It may be summer but how about starting those accessories like hats, cowls, scarves and fingerless mitts early? Small projects...

Is it hot enough for you? I'm afraid I have been staying inside with the coolness of air conditioning and knitting... at least until Monday morning. I'm afraid that's when I woke up to my right shoulder aching so badly that I can't even lift my arm. I've had it x-rayed and am waiting to get an ultrasound. For now, I am typing with my laptop ON my lap.

How's the summer going for you? It seems to be zooming by too quickly with weather that has been rather unsettled and hot. Last Friday, we had a power outage that lasted 19 hours so I had customers on Saturday shopping by their cellphone flashlight! I'm lucky I can make sales and take payments on my cellphone.
Even with all the projects that I have on my needles and being the middle of August, I cast on Leila Raabe's Deschain!
This summer I knit one summer top, a shawl, my bunnies and a fall cardigan! Many in my knit-alongs also decided to knit fall knits instead saying "I'll knit summer things during the winter". Here are a few pieces that are perfect for starting now to wear when it gets colder starting with Norah Gaughan's Beatnik (pictured)!
Two of the 4 Baa-ble hats that I knit up were for tow of my favourite people - Jill and her son!
The first of the 4 little rabbits that I knit, I started in April, this last one I finished this week so I will be saying goodbye to them soon! My daughter's family came for a short visit on Monday so that we could babysit the baby and she and hubby could take Griffin to Adventure Bay in Windsor! Of course Griffin was so excited to watch me finish his "Harry" who now sports a belly button at his request.
Sweet, sweet but hot and muggy summer days...Do they inspire light, summer knitting projects or do they inspire you to start your fall / winter wardrobe?

As the warmer weather hits, many set down their needles to work in their gardens, go camping or the beach or a myriad of summer activities! I think you can work on your projects anywhere - knit at the beach, on your patio, by the pool because I personally cannot imagine idle hands so I still knit during the summer months and I love summer tops - lacy or plain, tank top style, tee shirt style...
