It has cooled down considerably out there especially our mornings and evenings. It is definitely sweater weather! Did you know that there are only 8 more weeks until Christmas?

It is the perfect weather for wearing a gorgeous scarf. The Sevela Scarf by mabelle knitting is a delicate, airy scarf, knitted in the signature lace pattern of the Sevela Sweater. The fine wave motif evokes a gentle breeze sweeping across the water’s surface, giving the accessory an elegant lightness. Whether worked in luxurious silk for a summery whisper of warmth or in cozy wool for cooler days, the Sevela Scarf is versatile, timeless, and effortlessly easy to style.

Do you like Joji Locatelli's gorgeous designs? The One Love Mystery Shawl
by Joji Locatelli is a Mystery Knit-Along with Joji where you will be knitting together a very easy but gorgeous shawl over the course of four weeks.
Designing and writing a mystery shawl is a nerve-wracking process: you never know if you’ll meet everyone’s expectations. I don’t want you to be disappointed with the result, so I’ll share a few details about the project. But since this is still a mystery, I’ll keep some surprises for later!
Here are some facts about the shawl we’ll be making:
- It is a crescent shaped shawl. It can be worn over the shoulders or as a scarf.
- Approx. measurements are 68” (170 cm) wide x 15¼“ (38 cm) deep.
- This is a small one skein shawl, so the clues are really doable within one week.
- It is worked in only one color, but feel free to use colors as you like. Perhaps you feel like striping, fading, marling? That would make this shawl truly a mystery.
- You will need approx. 420 yards (384 m) of fingering weigh yarn. You can still make it with 400 yards… but 420 will work better. And if you have more than that, you’ll be able to use them. You can also use yarns in a different weight, with a similar yardage (for example: 440 yards of DK). The result will be a bigger shawl.
- Good for all levels. This is an easy shawl and there are no complex techniques used. There is no brioche involved. No short rows either.
Clues
There are 4 clues to be revealed and they will be delivered weekly as follows:
clue 1 - Nov 1
clue 2 - Nov 7
clue 3 - Nov 13
clue 4 - Nov 19
Each clue will be sent as a ‘pattern update’ on Ravelry and you will have to download it from your library.
The shawl will be revealed and published as a whole pattern on December 10. You will receive the finished pattern then.
The pattern is called One Love, and it will be available later as a standalone pattern at a slightly higher price.
Suggested Yarn
Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light, Malabrigo Mechita, Malabrigo Sock, Hedgehog Fibres Sock

Are you ready to think about Christmas? Gnoel Gnome by Sarah Schira runs a scented candle workshop. At this time of year, he loves to combine cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves in his favourite festive candle - Put A Bow On It. He is working on a woodsmoke and nutmeg candle he plans to call Stockings By The Fire.
A handsome, larger gnome, Gnoel is a great gnome for mantlepieces or porch displays. He’s a great first project for stranded colourwork - after all, wonkiness is gnominess!
Fun Fact: the mittens have no gusset - we do a little trick with an i-cord thumb that gets knit on so we can reduce the fussiness of making tiny mittens.
14 video tutorials are linked in the pattern, including colourwork basics, tips for assembling Gnoel, and tips to work the beard
Colourwork is charted only.

FOs and WIPs

I worked 20 rounds of 1x1 ribbing with the 4 steek stitches in between on my Fie Cardigan by Kristin Drysdale . I worked a regular bind off on the steek stitches and and italian sewn bind off on the remaining stitches. I can't quite believe it but I was able to the whole bind during the long 18 inning World Series baseball game between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers!

I blocked it yesterday afternoon and I am now ready to prepare for steeking (cutting) the front. I plan to work single crochet reinforcements on either side of the center stitch before cutting it. You can use a sewing machine, of course but my sewing has such a wonky tension that I do not trust it.

Yesterday while my Fie Cardigan was blocking, I cast on the Confetti Cardigan Mini by Nashwa Sakr. I am using Garnstudio Drops Fiesta in the colour 14 Rainbow Sprinkles.
KNIT GROUP AND GALLERY

Lori drove in from Chatham to shop wearing this beautiful Dagmar Jacket by PetiteKnit but she couldn't remember the name of the shawl she was wearing.

Yanhong (CaptainMocha) was inspired originally by a YouTube video on the EASIEST hexagon tutorial for beginner crochet artists but found a basic hexagon chart on Pinterest to make hers.

She used Berroco Vintage DK to make it.

Yanhong (CaptainMocha) matches her Dipsy Labubu! She is wearing her Lakes V neck Pullover by Ozetta : Hailey Smedley.

Connie (knitnut246) had a hot water bottle with a jacket that she used to keep her feet warm. Her husband taking it she now he has his own with the Hot Water Bottle Cover by Emily Bolduan covering it. She used Malabrigo Washted and Malabrigo Mechita first held double and then striped in single strands.

Jocelyne (jocblais) knit herself the Alchemist Slipover by Wool & Pine using Julie Asselin Leizu DK.

The Alchemist uses an i-cord bind off and has i-cord ties at the sides.

Elaine (emayea knit a fall display of Pepo Pumpkin Patch by Sandra Magalhães using Estelle Eco Tweed Worsted and an Autumn Pumpkin Kit.

Kathy knit this gorgeous Barbroe Dress by Pernille Larsen for her granddaughter! She used WYS Exquisite Lace held double.

Paulette (@psknitting50) received some mystery roving from her late master spinner friend Virginia, including the Coopworth roving that she spun into 443 yards/228g of the loveliest, fulled worsted weight yarn!

Debbie (@love.knit.spin.weave) test knit this Lina Cowl for Zanete Knits.

To get the full effect, here it is blocking!
