These slippers have a high ride back and sides. They are designed to cover the top of the foot for maximum coverage, with a rounded upper.
The slippers are knit in the round as well as straight knitting and uses 100% wool yarn, basic knit stitches. Skill level, easy to moderate, short row knitting involved. Machine washing for felting technique.
Materials: Super bulky weight wool that felts easily to a firm fabric. You can use any yarn that meets gauge - just make sure that it is 100% wool and non-superwash. We recommend Filzwolle Nr.1 Maxi Color / Maxi Tweed which should arrive next week!
Required experience: easy to moderate, short row knitting involved. Machine washing for felting technique. Students must be experienced and comfortable with circular needles before taking this class.
Techniques: We will us long tail cast on, backwards loop cast on, stockinette stitch, increasing (m1l and m1r) and decreasing (k2tog and ssk) stitches, picking up stitches, seaming (mattress and Kitchener stitch), applied i-cord edge
Sizing:
You will be able to make 6 different sizes from this one pattern. Womens 5/6 6/7 7/8 8/9 9/10 10/11, foot measurements are included with pattern. Wide width and Narrow width sole instructions included.
Yarn:
400 - 450 yards (366 - 411 m)
Needles:
8.00 mm (US 11) needles
Gauge:
14 stitches and 22 rows = 4 inches in garter stitch
