Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to everyone this coming weekend. It's that time of year again when we gather together with friends and family to enjoy a delicious meal and to connect and reflect on what we are thankful for. We are thankful for your business and continued support. Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving Day with your friends and family!

Four Designers. Four Dyers. One Cause.
For our 6th annual fundraiser, we asked four of our favorite designers to team up with four incredible indie dyers and create something you won’t find anywhere else: original accessory patterns paired with limited-edition, pink-inspired colorways, made exclusively for this year’s collection.
Featuring collaborations from:
Andrea Mowry + Farmer’s Daughter Fibers
Teti Lutsak + Life in the Long Grass
Melanie Berg + Miss Babs
Tin Can Knits + Tanis Fiber Arts

Cherry Bloom by Melanie Berg is one of the four patterns in the Knit for the Girls 2026 Exclusive Collection, created for the 6th annual KFTG breast cancer research fundraiser. With one in eight women diagnosed with breast cancer every year (in countries where they keep track of it), it’s hard to find a member of our community who hasn’t been impacted — be it personally or through a family member or friend.
During October 2026, 20% of pattern sales from the entire collection will be donated to the official North American KFTG fundraiser, supporting breast cancer research.
Join Melanie for the Cherry Bloom KAL! There’s something really special about coming together as a knitting community, knitting the same project, and supporting breast cancer research with every Cherry Bloom we make.
Cherry Bloom is a soft, lacy shawlette in a tender shade of pink — the kind of pink that feels like a quiet bit of hope. It’s a small project, but it carries a lot of feeling: lace that blooms stitch by stitch, a little reminder that good things grow slowly and gently, one row at a time.
Worked in Miss Babs’ Billow, an alpaca/cotton blend with beautiful loft and the softest, cloud-like drape, it has a tender hand-feel that makes the lace pattern really sing. It’s warm without being heavy, light without being flimsy — the kind of fabric you’ll want to keep wrapped around your shoulders long after the last stitch is bound off.
Whether you knit it for yourself, as a gift, or in honor of someone you love, Cherry Bloom is a shawlette meant to be worn often and cherished quietly. A small, soft thing, made with care, and full of hope.

Tetas cowl by Teti Lutsak is part of the Knit for the Girls 2026 Exclusive Collection, created for the annual Knit for the Girls breast cancer research fundraiser.
I wanted this cowl to be a statement piece — bright and graphic. And Caroline of LITLG created amazing colours for it. One can also use more colours or make nipples as big/small/oddly shaped to highlight the diverse beauty of breasts — some small, some large, all part of who we are.
The cowl is worked as a tube seamlessly in the round using stranded colourwork and ladderback jacquard. The ends of the tube are twisted by 180 degrees and connected with an invisible seam.
SIZE
The pattern is written for one size with a finished width of ca. 21.5 cm (8.75 in) and
66.5 cm (26.75 in) circumference.
The finished circumference can be adjusted by a half/full pattern repeat if necessary.
NEEDLES
4.0 mm (US 6) circular needles
GAUGE
24 sts and 24 rnds in 10 cm (4 in) on 4.0 mm (US 6) needles measured over stockinette st and colourwork pattern worked in the round after blocking.
Adjust the needle sizes to obtain the required gauge or modify the size of the cowl.
