Can you believe that we are past mid-October with Halloween next week! Christmas is going to be here before we know it...Have you started your gift knitting or sweater weather knits?

The Rhinebeck Raglan by Tori Yu is a beautifully textured sweater I designed to honor my favorite weekend of the year. Rhinebeck, or more formally known as the NY Sheep & Wool Festival, is a joyous place that brings so many of us together to celebrate the craft we all love. I’ve never felt more belonging than I do when I’m at Rhinebeck. This sweater is worked top-down with compound raglan increases and features a folded collar and bold raglan lines. This sweater design is so special to me and I hope you love making it!

The No Frills Sweater by PetiteKnit is worked from the top down in stockinette stitch with raglan increases to shape the yoke. First, the neck edge is worked, then short rows are worked at the back of the neck to shape the neckline and raise the back. The body and sleeves are worked in the round in stockinette stitch, and both are finished with a rib edge. Knit a swatch to determine which needle size gives you the correct gauge. Remember to wash the swatch before measuring the gauge.

Ripples and Rain by Jennifer Shiels Toland is a 2 patterns in 1
1 skein – 2 little beauties - each using approximately 1/2 a skein of yarn!
The idea for this duet came about whilst I was on holidays in the Maritimes and Newfoundland, Canada, this past summer. I came across Lichen and Lace for the first time in a little gift shop on Cape Breton. Well of course I had to check out ALL the yarn, so I popped by Megan’s fab shop in cute Sackville New Brunswick. A week later, I cast on Ripples at Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse, Newfoundland, on one of the most tranquil days of our holiday. Check out my knitting day there on Instagram. A little slice of heaven!
Ripples and Rain is a scarf and shawlette duo of patterns for you to enjoy, using only 1 skein of yarn to make both! Perfect amuse-bouche delights to cleanse your palate between larger projects, and they make for the perfect gifts!
RIPPLES is a long narrow scarf worked lengthwise, tip to tip. Like the much loved Riptide Scarfette, the fun and elegant Riptide stitch pattern frames two panels of simple pointelle lacework, resulting in a very feminine and pretty neck scarf. The length is completely adjustable to your own desire!
RAIN is a feminine triangular shawlette that is worked lengthwise, tip to tip. The Riptide stitch pattern frames the entire shawlette edge, encapsulating simple elegant pointelle lacework throughout, like raindrops on still water. The size is easily adjustable. Stitches are increased along one edge until you reach half of your yarn weight (or your desired width) and then you commence decreasing stitches to the end tip. Make the petite sample size shown in blue-green or go for a larger shawlette shown in coral-pink!

Pattern:
2 patterns in one
You will receive two separate patterns (pdf’s), one for Ripples and one for Rain.
The patterns are both fully written row by row and completely charted.
1 skein - 2 projects
The beauty of these patterns is that you can make both from only 1 skein of yarn.
For example:
From the Beach Glass (blue-green) skein of yarn I made Ripples AND Rain as per the repeats stated in the patterns.
From the Faded Rose (coral-pink) skein of yarn I made a larger Rain shawlette (instructions for this mod are included in the pattern), AND a smaller version of Ripples (I worked less repeats).
If you are planning on making both Ripples and Rain from the same skein, it is recommended that you make Rain first, so as to not run out of yarn. Ripples length is easier to adjust.

YARN:

Last Friday, I had finished stabilizing the steek stitches with single crochet using my CC1 and started picking up the front bands with the MC.

I picked up 103 stitches for the front bands for my cropped length. I worked an edge stitch on each side. I worked 4 stitch one-row buttonholes. I sewed in the ends and blocked.
When it was dry, I set up my phone to video cutting the steek but forgot to put it in video mode! I tacked down the steeked edges and sewed on my buttons.

This is the wrong side after steeking and tacking down the turned back crocheted edges.

I am very happy with how my Agnes Turned out!

Last Thursday, I separated the sleeves from the body on my Juledrømmen (Christmas Dream) by Frksiljestrikk.

I took this progress shot on Monday. Since then, I think I am almost ready to work the i-cord bind off! I knit it using a strand of Sandnes Garn Ballerina held
