Wednesday, October 1, 2025, Issue 411: It's fall and sweater weather begins...Happy Wednesday!
It really has started feeling seasonally cold and crisp outside..at least in the morning and at night! What gets you in the fall knitting mood for you...sweater weather sweaters, a cozy shawl or a pair of warm socks?
PetiteKnit has so many wearable and beautiful patterns that are perfect to kick off sweater weather! The Key Sweater by PetiteKnit is worked from the top down with raglan increases on the yoke. Short rows are worked after the neck rib edge to shape the neckline. The body and sleeves are worked in the round and finished with rib edges. The pattern is knitted with a two-colour stripe pattern.

The Terrazzo Sweater by PetiteKnit would make a perfect fall knit. It is worked from the top down. First the yoke is worked flat (back and forth) on the circular needles, while the neckline is being shaped, then the work is joined to be knitted in the round.. The yoke is constructed with shoulder increases on both right side and wrong side rows on the first section. On the next section, increases are worked on the sleeves only, and on the final section classic raglan increases are worked on both body and sleeves.
The turtleneck consists of a ribbed collar worked at the end, from stitches that are picked up and knitted along the neck edge. I love the idea of a turtleneck but don't alway like them. Since the neckline is worked at the end, it makes it easy to change it into a folded over collar or a regular short ribbed collar.
The Terrazzo Sweater is designed to have approx. 14 cm 5½ inches of positive ease so it is not as oversized but has that classic feel to it that should never go out of style.

FOs and WIPs
I haven’t made much progress on my Fie Cardigan by Kristin Drysdale. I have only knit a few more rounds and changed to a longer needle and magic looping in the last week but I did steam block it before taking this photo of it.
It is looking so pretty! A row of flowers have emerged in the yoke. I can't wait to finishe the yoke.
I have been busy getting the new website ready. The new Shopify website is now live but there will likely be a lot of fine tuning left and a new learning curve. The other thing is that I have a new email address although the old one will still work. The new email is sue@sue2knits.com.
