It has been so cold recently that the recent "warmer" weather was much appreciated. I think that I am so over winter already! Are you knitting sweater weather sweaters or are you anticipating spring and planning your warm weather knits while you work on your wips?

Frost Lines by Andrea Mowry is her first pattern of 2026.
Soft, fluffy yarn, playful stripes, and buttons that offer a pop of color are just the ingredients to lift us out of the winter doldrums!
This sweater is worked from the top down, seamlessly. The sleeve stitches are put on hold while the body is finished and then returned to the needle. The cardigan is finished off with a beautifully polished double knit button band. You can, of course, modify it to have any length body or sleeves, trying it on as you go!

If you are tired of winter and want to jump start your summer knitting with a gorgeous shawl, this is Summer Meadow by Janina Kallio. It is a relaxing knit with a contemporary look, Summer Meadow is the perfect project for lazy days. Big and floaty, this shawl is an absolute beauty with delicate details.
Summer Meadow combines garter stitch with a beautifully textured eyelet pattern. Small eyelets are sprinkled along the stockinette stitch and framed with petite garter ridges for textural interest.
The slightly asymmetric triangle shape is created by working diagonally from one tip to the opposite edge, resulting in a large but lightweight wrap with a beautiful drape.

Yarn
Two skeins of The Fibre Co. Meadow (40% merino, 25% llama, 20% silk, 15% linen; 498 m / 545 yds per 100 g). Shown in colour Cornflower.
Or approximately 879 m / 961 yds of similar light fingering weight yarn.
Needles
Size 4 mm (US 6) needles or size to obtain pattern gauge
This shawl is worked flat, but I recommend using 80-100 cm / 32-40 inch circular needles to accommodate the growing number of stitches.
Finished Size After blocking
221 cm / 87 in (wingspan) x 102 cm / 40 in (depth)

Rewilding means stopping the bustle of human activity and giving the land back to itself, allowing the earth and the creatures that live there to get on with the work of growth, and balance and restoration. It is a beautiful concept and one that is doing so much for biodiversity and the health of our wildlife.
It’s also a lovely concept for people: stepping away from the busyness of our lives and just letting ourselves be for a little while. That’s one of the greatest gifts we can get from a creative retreat: the chance to rewild our souls, just a little bit.
The Rewilding Shawl by Helen Stewart has an asymmetrical design that features large comforting sections of garter: her ultimate “just be” stitch. A simple eyelet lace section adds a sprig of pretty detail, and the shawl is finished with fun, boho tassels. This is a light shawl, a perfect transitional piece for those in-between seasons.
The Rewilding Shawl was designed using the stunning Meadow from The Fibre Co. This is an incredibly luxurious yarn, a blend of merino, baby llama, silk, and linen. It creates a very sophisticated, drapey fabric, but the little flecks running through the yarn give it a gently rustic, untamed character, just perfect for this design.

FOs and WIPs

I blocked my Mellow Mood Sweater by Julia Piro last week and on Saturday, I wove in the ends!

As you can see, my modified version does nor have the pattern across all of the stitches under the arms but stockinette. I simply missed that part of the pattern instruction!
I knit mine with Noro Silk Garden Sock Solo in colour S1 held double with Garnstudio Drops Kid Silk in colour 40 Pink Pearl.
Everyone who took the class with Jen used an array of yarns but they all got gauge. Nathalie wanted a warm, cozy version so chose Berroco Ultra Alpaca Chunky. A few used Berroco Vintage, Berroco Ultra Alpaca (worsted) and Garnstudio Drops Air - all held single. Shirley didn't want hers as lofty and lightweight so for hers, she held Garnstudio Drops Flora with the Drops Air. Marilyn can't wear mohair or woolly yarns so she used Garnstudio Drops Sky (DK) held double with Brushed Alpaca Silk.

I cast on the Jilli Jumper by Anne Ventzel on Saturday afternoon. I decided to use Lang Yarns Yak, a beautiful, classic yarn that is 70% Extra Fine Mulesing-Free Merino Wool, 30% Yak.

The designer must be a loose knitter like me because a 4.5 mm needle was what I used for my Mellow Mood to get a 16 stitch gauge while the pattern suggested 5.5 mm needles. Gauge for the Jilli is 17 stitches and while I am about 1/4 of a stitch smaller, blocking will get me gauge.

Instead of 21 rounds of twisted rib for the neck, I only worked 15. I do not have a tall neck!
