August is almost over and kids go back to school soon...Is it sweater weather yet? Maybe not quite yet but maybe it is time to start knitting them? What is on your needles?
Sweater No. 9 by My Favourite Things is a heavy knit sweater with classic raglan sleeves and a high neck. A chunky and elegant style with lovely details. The sweater is cut for a comfy loose fit and shapes itself beautifully on all shapes and sizes.
The sweater can be made either in regular length or a short – almost cropped – version. As it’s knitted from top to down, you can try it on while knitting and choose the length that suits your body.

The sweater is knit with two strands of yarn held together. You can also knit it using a single strand that can give you gauge.

7.00 mm (US 10.75) (80 or 100 cm) circular needles
5.00 mm (US 8) (40 and 80 cm) circular needles
5.00 mm and 7.00 mm double pointed needles unless you are knitting the sleeves with the magic loop method.

Kis (kaandersen) knit hers using a single strand of Lang Cloud.
Juledrömmen by Frksiljestrikk is a festive top with approx. 18–22 cm of positive ease, making it slightly oversized in width. You can adjust the length as desired. For example: my bust circumference is 90 cm, and I knitted size S/M (112 cm bust). I chose a shorter length (47 cm), but you can knit longer if you prefer—just be mindful that this may increase the amount of yarn necessary.
The top is worked top-down with raglan increases, and finished with i-cord edges at the neckline, sleeves, and hem.

The Margaret Sweater by LE KNIT by Lene Holme Samsøe is ideal for using up your leftover mohair. The sweater features a fair isle pattern on the round yoke. In this type of pattern both pattern color and ground color changes, but you only ever knit with 2 colors at a time. We have included 5 specific suggestions for color combinations in the pattern to make it easier for you.

Gauge
16 sts x approx. 20-22 row in stockinette stitch with the main color = 10 x 10 cm on 6.00 mm (US 10) needles.
16 sts x approx. 19 rows stockinette stitch in pattern = 10 x 10 cm on 6.50-7.00 mm (US 10.5-10.75) needles.
Work the pattern on needles ½-1 size larger than in plain stockinette. It is important for the fit that the pattern border is not tighter than the part knitted in plain stockinette stitch.

FOs and WIPs
I finished some more little clothes for my granddaughter's collection of Little Cotton Rabbits that I knit for her as well as a few handed down to her from her older cousins.
Last week, I had cast on and was working on the Cozy Aran Sweater from the Seasonal Sweaters Collection. On Sunday, I cast on the Nordic Sweater from the same collection.
Each section is completed and I am ready to sew up the seams.
I cast on a pair of Short Trousers from the Bunny with a striped sweater by Julie Williams pattern.
I finished the Cozy Aran Sweater and the Short Trousers.
Yesterday, I cast on the Sleeveless Flowery Frock from the Fox in a flowery frock by Julie Williams pattern. I finished both the Nordic Sweater and the Flowery Frock.
All four pieces are steam blocked steam blocked and I only just need to sew on the tiny buttons at the back of the neck.
These are what I knit for her in August of 2024.

KNIT GROUP AND GALLERY
My sister Mary (maryc1981) finished her Sashiko Tee by Elenor Mortensen.
She knit sleeves to round 67. I knit round 67 similar to round 53 with the little pattern eliminated. I knit rounds 68-70 with the leaf pattern eliminated, followed by 1 round of MC and 5 rounds of twisted 1X1 rib.
Mary knit this using the West Wool Bicycle that she bought while were at Stephen & Penelope in Amsterdam during our British Isles Knit, Purl Cruise.
Jolayne knit this Step by Step Cardigan by Florence Miller for our First Cardigan Class using Cascade 220 Heathers and Solids.
Jolayne knit this stunning Mellow Mood by Julia Piro using Noro Kompeito and Garnstudio Drops Kid Silk.
