For her seventh annual Local Yarn Store Day design, Jessica Ays (Double the Stitches) continues to celebrate something truly special: the relationship between knitters and the indie shops that inspire them. Treasured Skein Scarfette is designed for that one perfect skein you couldn’t leave behind.
This elongated, asymmetrical scarfette features bands of vine lace separated by simple stockinette, creating a knitting rhythm that’s both engaging and wonderfully relaxing. Gentle increases shape the piece to a shallow center, then taper to narrow ends - giving it that effortlessly stylish, easy-to-wear drape.
It looks intricate. It knits up joyfully. And it lets your yarn be the star.

The Fun Doesn't Stop on Sunday!
I'm hosting a Virtual Cast-On Party on Friday, May 1st, at 7 PM Eastern for every knitter who picks up the Treasured Skein Scarfette pattern.
Here's what we'll do together:
• I'll share an overview of the pattern of the scarfettes' construction
• We'll go over key techniques with tutorials so everyone feels confident casting on
• Share photos from our test knitters and sample knitters for yarnie inspiration. Make sure to tag me in yours!
• Answer questions live
The event will be hosted on Zoom and streamed live to YouTube. A replay will be shared afterward for anyone who can't make it live.

I pre-ordered the Madelinetosh LYS Day 2026 Kit colours - Medieval and Meet Me at the LYS in the Tosh Merino Light but unfortunately, I don't think the order will arrive in time for Saturday. Meet Me at the LYS blends golden warmth, gentle lavender, and earthy greens to capture the joy of gathering at your local yarn shop.
They were sold out almost immediately for their kits in the Della Q bags so I ordered the 2 colours only. I will set them to allow backorders for Saturday.

The Sashiko Tee by @elenormortensen is now available on Ravelry. Isn’t it beautiful?
She has started a KAL in collaboration with @_wollfestivalkassel! You can post your tees on Instagram with the #sashikoteekal and tag @_wollfestivalkassel and @elenormortensen and you can also join the KAL in her Ravelry group.
Who wants to join in a shop KAL with me along with Elenor? We will host an Any Tee KAL including the Sashiko Tee which I plan to knit.

Choose from the 3 combos shown of Julie Asselin Leizu Fingering - Galet with Émilie, Midnight Oil with
Thé d’après-midi, Trench with Biscotti, choose your own combo or choose a combo of any fingering in the shop!
The Sashiko Tee is a top-down knitted tee-shirt with a large colourwork motif that extends over the yoke and further over the front, back and short sleeves.
To ensure a seamless pattern on the body for all sizes, the sweater is available in 6 sizes and 2 different gauges, resulting in a wide range of sizes.
Her sweater is size 3 with a gauge swatch of 26 stitches x 32 rounds (gauge 1).
I recommend a positive ease of approx. 4-6″ / 10-15 cm
Gauge 1 (G1):
26 sts x 32 rnds = 4″ / 10 x 10cm with 3.5mm ndl in plain stockinette and in fair isle pattern, after wet blocking.
SIZES in gauge 1:
1, 2, 3 (4, 5, 6)
Finished bust circumference in gauge 1: 33.8, 37.8, 42.1 (46.5, 50.5, 55.1)″ / 86, 96, 107 (118, 129, 140) cm
Gauge 2 G2:
25 sts x 30 rnds = 4″ / 10 x 10cm with 3.75mm ndl in plain stockinette and in fair isle pattern, after wet blocking.
SIZES in gauge 2:
1, 2, 3 (4, 5, 6)
Finished bust circumference in gauge 2: 35.4, 39.4, 44 (48.4, 52.7, 57)″ / 90, 100, 112 (123, 134, 145) cm
MATERIAL:
Yarn
The required amount of yarn is calculated generously so that it is sufficient for both gauges.
If you want the shirt to be longer than specified, you will need to plan for more yarn.

FOs and WIPs

One step forward, two steps back...I frogged back about 4 inches of the sleeve on my Kitsch Cardigan by Sedna Knitting Test Knit! I had commented that my gauge seemed really loose and wondered why since I should have been using 3.0 mm needles. It turned out that must have been interrupted and distracted when I changed from my 16 inch 3.00 needles because I was using 4.5 mm needles! I am back on track with the proper needle size.

I only knit a few more inches on my Jilli Jumper by Anne Ventzel. Between both of my WIPs, there hasn't been much progress because I have been busy! Last week, we had a leaking mixing valve on our water heater. It was luckily not the bottom rusting out or we would have had a flood of water but it was still enough that I noticed when I went in to wind yarn. Needless to say but we replaced the water heater, furnace and air conditioner.
