The Terrazzo Sweater by PetiteKnit would make a perfect fall knit. It is worked from the top down. First the yoke is worked flat (back and forth) on the circular needles, while the neckline is being shaped, then the work is joined to be knitted in the round.. The yoke is constructed with shoulder increases on both right side and wrong side rows on the first section. On the next section, increases are worked on the sleeves only, and on the final section classic raglan increases are worked on both body and sleeves.

The turtleneck consists of a ribbed collar worked at the end, from stitches that are picked up and knitted along the neck edge. I love the idea of a turtleneck but don't alway like them. Since the neckline is worked at the end, it makes it easy to change it into a folded over collar or a regular short ribbed collar.

The Terrazzo Sweater is designed to have approx. 14 cm 5½ inches of positive ease so it is not as oversized but has that classic feel to it that should never go out of style.

Construction

WIPs and FOs

No, I still haven’t picked up my Alpine Bloom Hat by Caitlin Hunter to work on again. I really should since it wouldn’t take much to finish it but I really want to finish my Lace & Fade Boxy by Joji for the Joji Fall KAL 2023.

This pose almost makes it look like I am finished.

When it can time to start my second skein of the main colour since I am not knitting mine as a fade, I decided to knit the sleeves first. One sleeve is finished and the other is half finished. Knitting the sleeves first will allow me to decide if I want to knit it longer. The pattern has one more lace section and another stockinette section before the ribbed hem.

KNIT GROUP AND GALLERY

Arlette (arlumizu) now has a cowl added to her collection of a hat and gloves.

Sandi (sandima) knit this soft and cozy Navigation Beanie by Nici Griffin using her drop spindle hand spun.

Kay (83krobbins) finished her Beware of the Moose by Amy Miller except for weaving in the ends and adding a pompom.

Christie (christiewn) knit this pair of car passenger/waiting room knitting vanilla socks using Urth Yarns Uneek Sock in Tigress.

While Cathy (MCatherineL) rarely uses yarn from my shop, and I rarely see her at the LaSalle or Essex groups since I can’t get to them these days, she knits and crochets beautifully. This is the Heart Blanket by Marina Nikolaidou that she finished recently.

Christina (@thebusyknitter) has been crocheting more these days. She crocheted this simple blanket to use up all of the super chunky yarn she bought originally to make hats with.

Justyna Lorkowska (Lete) crocheted this gorgeous Lost in Time by Johanna Lindahl. I have had this in my favourites forever!

SHOP UPDATE

A big shipment of Rowan arrived yesterday!

The new Rowan Magazine 74 has arrived. This issue spotlights Felted Tweed and their new yarn Fine Tweed Haze.

All 10 colours of the new Rowan Fine Tweed Haze arrived and are in stock. A few new and somee restocked colours of Felted Tweed DK also arrived. We have 37 of the colours!

Yesterday was a day for shipments...A huge shipment of Malabrigo arrived including some more Malabrigo Ultimate Sock and Malabrigo Mohair.

Along with the Ultimate Sock, I also received these specially labelled 101 Unique Colours which I have l called A through E on the website.

These are the specially labelled skeins of Mecha 101 Unified A, B and C.

In Malabrigo Rasta, there is a new Rasta More tab, these are RAS100 A through J.

The last shipment to arrive yesterday was from KDD & Co. New in thee shop is Davaar from Kate Davies Designs and Colour Moves, along with a restock of the previously sold out Sark, the Book of Haps and Argyll’s Secret Coast.
